My name is Rachel Maynard, I am 30 years old and I live in Northampton, England with my husband Ben and 3 lovely boys, Callum, Oliver and Rowan and very soon the newest member of my family, little baby Maynard who will be with us at the end of June 2012!
I first discovered reborning in May 2008 when I accidentally stumbled across a reborn while browsing eBay. I was stunned by the realism the artist had achieved and was desperate to have a go myself. I bought myself a kit and the supplies and had a try. I hadn't realised at the time there were lessons and sites that could have helped me out. I made my first reborn 'Abigail' from a Secrist Zoe sculpt, there is a picture of her on the collage of my past babies on the adopted babies page, looking a little bit red, but I'm proud of her all the same!
Reborning is now a full time 'job' for me, I am lucky enough to be able to work from home and run my own business.
In July 2010, myself and my friend and fellow artist Cassie Peek decided to come together to produce some tutorial DVDs, we created a new business called Precious Little Baby Dust, selling our tutorials and reborn supplies. PLBD has done so well ever since and we are so thankful to our wonderful customers!
In the past year we have produced four tutorial DVDs, and hope to further our collection soon. We have also expanded our business to become a reborn supplies company. We supply everything you need to create your reborn doll, including the fantastic Slumberland mohair we use on our own dolls.
We are so proud of our little baby and wish to continue growing the business. We are now hosting live lessons, selling at doll shows, and have just produced our first doll kit!!!
