I love the look of a perfect rooted head of hair, it really is the crowning glory on any doll. Its unfortunate that my time doesn't allow for much rooting now and I am enjoying experimenting with painted hair. Running 2 businesses and a family whilst pregnant has me so exhausted and my evenings, which used to be spend rooting, are now spent snoozing on the sofa lol.

When I do get the time to root, I love to experiment with different hair lines, hair styles and directions and varying my crowns from more subtle to super swirly.  Real babies all have different hairlines and styles and I love to replicate this on my reborns.
I root using a very fine 42g Compact needle, which is a needle with several barbs right at the very tip and perfect for ultra microrooting. I root one hair at a time, which is time consuming but so worth it. The hair is pushed in at an angle so that it stays flat to the head and flows in a natural direction.

The mohair I use is such fabulous quality, super fine and super soft just like a real baby hair. I even rooting the tiny 'peach fuzz' baby hairs at the front of the hairline.  It takes me a lot longer to root these fine hairs and I have to be so careful and precise with my rooting, however all the extra work is worth it to get a completely rooted head of hair that looks so real.
